A note to our Board Members regarding "Our Community" .....

I would like to thank you MedHelp for the formal introduction as the Community Leader of the Thyroid Board.  But even more important, I want to thank YOU, the members of this community because YOU are what make it such a GREAT COMMUNITY!  This board has been, and I can only anticipate it will continue to be, a wonderful place for people to come together to give/get thyroid support, advice and gain knowledge.  In the process of doing so, some may even make new friends along the way!

I have been a member of this fabulous board since Nov. 2006 when I first found out I had 2 thyroid nodules.  Since that very first posting, I cannot begin to tell you all how much this board has helped me with my thyroid issues from detection to surgery to medication to acceptance!  This is something I will always hold dear to my heart.

I view our Thyroid Community as a fence .. the fence we build is built post by post and until every post is answered our job will not be done.  Through the sincere efforts of everybody in this community we WILL BUILD THAT FENCE and as we do .. WE WILL HELP EACH OTHER and when we are having a good day maybe give support/lend a hand, tell a joke --  and when we are having a bad day, perhaps, reach out for support & know we will get support from our friends.

It is the uniquue dynamics of our own Community we see on this board day in and day out that sets us apart .. reminds us WE ARE NOT ALONE and makes us a true, solid community dedicated to helping each other.  To me, that is something very special and very proud to be a part of .. and, I think you may feel the same way, too!

So to all of us on the board ... pat ourselves on the back for a job well done .. a job in process .. lending a hand ..helping each other, and in the process maybe having some fun!

As your Community Leader my door is always open .. I check my messages and the board many times a day .. any question, suggestion or concern is never too big or too small .. If I don't know the answer, I will try my best to find the answer for you and/or pass it along to MedHelp directly.

We all have one thing in common -- Our Community has thyroid concerns.  This is what brings us together and will keep us together ..... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!

Think the decorated eggs would be beautiful on your hat.  Wouldn't want to have roosters or chickens hanging in my face!!  Might flog me.  But then I am a bit paranoid about rubber chickens!  LOL

Thank you, Cheryl.  I've always gotten a lot from you and all the other contributors.  This stuff is scary to face alone, having a forum really helps.  It even helped back when I was too weak to contribute but got so much out of just reading.

I was thinking the brim of the new hat could be adorned with brightly decorated eggs ... what do you think ... more classy than roosters hanging in my eyes?

I don't know about it fitting on a potato, but that rooster may not be too happy about it!  LOL

I think it would have to be made out of tinfoil (to match your tinfoil tiera)!  We could hang rubber chickens from the sash or just give you a bouquet of them!

You have made me smile .. you are good at it you know ... we go back a long time ... I think you were one of the first people to answer my first post when I was so scared after my FNA biopsy!   Yeah .. FNA was early November 2006 along with my first post I think .... Surgery Jan. 07 ... and now look at us ..... 2008!

All the CL's have the same icon ..... sorry to disappoint you!  But good marketing idea for a rainy day LOL!

Now on the sash ...................................yeah, speechless for once ... maybe twice.  You think it would work with a tinfoil hat?

Cheryl,

Wow - see why you got to be ambassador??  You should also be voted as Ms. Congeniality (can the sash fit on your potato??)

How come you get a flower by your name?  Can you ask Med Help to make it an angry, ugly butterfly??  :-)

Love ya Tater
