Nodular on Thyroid..ENT not concerned

I saw an ENT for enlarged glands on the left side of my neck...she believed it to be the subminular gland.  She sent me in for a xray with contrast and after reviewing the results herself she was concerned it might be "dense".  The radiologist reveiwed and said it was fine however they did say I have a little nodular on my thyroid but were not concerned.  She said it is common and not to worry.  Should I be getting another doctors advice or is this really common as she says?  I thought it was probably a bad tooth then so went in for root canal and ended up with nerve damage (whole nother story).

I have SLE Lupus so I have had symptoms I believe are related to that, arthritis, joint pain, fatigue to name a few.  I originally went to see the ENT because I had swelling from my upper jaw down the side of my neck.  I was pretty sure it was a tooth that had been capped the previously year since that's  when it all started but wanted to rule out anything else.  She said it was probably lupus related and suggested I get physical therapy.  I decided then that it had to be the tooth so I went to an endodoncis doctor who told me I needed a root canal.  He really did a number on me by going too far and into my nerve in the jaw...now I've been completely numb/burning nerve pain since 15th of Sept.  More pain than I've ever felt and yes my jaw and neck hurt worst now.  So....jaw pain is associated with thyroid?  The doctor who treats me for Lupus checked it 2-3 years ago and said it was slightly elevated but wasn't concerned.  Perhaps I should make an appt with him.

Thanks for the insight and sorry for the long drawn out letter.  Just feeling desperate to end all this and feel normal again.

Many, many people have nodules and don't even know it. It is no biggie. The question is, how do you feel?

Any health concerns that might make you think you have thyroid disease? Even fibromyalgia pain, migraines, constipation, fatigue, joint pain, can be thyriod related.

Have you had these thyroid tests?
TSH
FT3
FT4
TGAb
Anti-TPO

If you feel fine, then just follow up on the nodule in 6 months or a year.
