I realize this is not a common test these days, but doing some detective work on very old tests that have recently come to light. I didn't know what test numbers meant back then, as far as which tests were the right ones, let alone what the numbers should be. My doctor at the time was mainly testing my TSH, FT4 (the small range one), sometimes a total t4-and did a T3 by RIA once and I am curious as to what it meant...there is almost nothing on this test online. I thought I saw somewhere that the higher the number in t3 by RIA, the less T3 you have available. Just wondering if anyone here knows what the results mean as that high number is confusing me. I just know I had major HYPO symptoms at the time. Just trying to put the symptoms and the numbers together. Thanks!
I had been on Armour for 2 years and was probably on 105mg at the time of these tests. Too bad they didn't know about the FT3 test!!!
TSH .05 (.34 -5.6)
FT4 .79 (.61- 1.12)
Total T4 7.40 (6.09 -12.23)
T3 BY RIA 223 (65- 164)
