Hi Barb, Thank you for responding.  Go to my journals on June 30 and July 1,  along with my bio. My initial blood work when I was first diagnosed with hyper is there (4/28/10), along with my blood work from my last visit (6/23/10), when I went hypo. I am waiting on the blood work in between from the endos office. This way I can see how rapid the decline was. Deb had mentioned that 50 mg of methimazole daily was alot.
I see by your profile that your hypo. How did you get there?  Were you ever hyper and what were your symptoms?
I have gained 35lbs. in two months. I have a very big appetite now. Your weight is so good, did you ever have a problem? I am extremely constipated and bloated. I asked for a water pill, to no avail. My endo said to just be patient with the transition.  I have alot of swelling everywhere, but especially right below my boobs. I am VERY uncomfortable....I feel like I could explode.  My face is  puffy and I have dark puffy circles under my eyes. I have trouble concentrating for long periods of time. I am a completely different person from 2 months ago. I'm embarresed for people to see me like this. Even people I don't know.
The good news? My energy level is actually pretty good on 5 hours of sleep.
I would appreciate any insight you can give me on this illness. Where are you at right now and what meds are you taking?
I will read your journals. Thank you Barb!

Did you have any other tests done besides FT4?  Such as TSH and FT3?

Not sure I understand -- you were diagnosed hyper in April 2010?  What type of med were you given?

What, if any, symptoms do you have?

Hey Super Sally!   Love, love, love your name.  I have been on thyroid medication since Apr 2010, when I was diagnosed with hyperthyroid. In June 2010, I became hypo. Thank you for your input!

This means you are severely hypothyroid and need to either be started on thyroid meds (if you're not already), or to have those meds increased.

Make sure you follow up with your doctor on this.  This level is very low and thyroid hormone is essential for your body to work.
