Weight loss is never easy even under ideal circumstances and proper body metabolism. people with Hypo and therefore low metabolism find it difficult if not even impossible to loose weight until their thyroid leve is optimized.
Unfortunatly due to the state of the medical community, even people who are identified as Hypo and begin treatment are never truly optimized and are routiniely undermedicated. Thus the patient continues to find it agonizingly depressing difficult or impossible to lose weight. My wife has always been in this situation so I know the circumstances well.
As barb stated please tell us your symptoms and also if you have them all your blood test results including the reference ranges as the ranges vary lab to lab. With that information we may be able to help you more.
Since this is a thyroid forum, can you be more specific in regards to your thyroid condition? Often, when one has a thyroid condition and a weight issue, together, thyroid hormones are not properly adjusted or there are other issues present, such as metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, etc. I did see that you posted another question regarding pre-diabetes, which is also known as insulin resistance, which sometimes goes hand in hand with hypothyroidism.
Typically, in these situations, weight loss clinics will not be your best bet, because any weight lost, will not be lasting.
We could probably best help you, by addressing the thyroid issue. If you could post your current thyroid hormone levels, with reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report, that would be a start. It's also helpful to know what medication you're on, what dosage and for how long you've been on it.
Do you have other symptoms, as well?
Is this a thyroid related question?
