TSH Level

I just went to my Dr. for blood test.  My TSH level is 2.60 and I am taking .88 synthroid one time daily.  I have no energy and feel terrible.  He tells me my level is normal...Please help me...My weight is 170.

I was Hyper prior to RAI 8 months ago and at present my TSH is 2.39.
I find if I am higher than 2.3 but lower than 2.0 then I feel crappy.
We all have a different level we feel good at, its a case of fine tuning the meds until we recognise that 'good ' feeling.
All the best.

Hi...you sound just like me except my tsh is 2.40. My endo says I'm not ready for meds.  My antibodies tested postive for hashi's, but when I asked about the t3 and t4, they tell me not to worry, things are still normal for now and i'll be retested in June.  I hope I'm ready for meds in June!!  I feel tired and have other things going on that are thyroid related.   Hope you feel better soon!  I don't know anything about the meds, but does it take time for them to kick in and start helping you?  Chin up...

Hi and welcome!
Did you have the much needed Free T4 and Free T3 tests done with the TSH?  You need all 3 in order to get a complete look at what is going on. Also did you have antibody tests done for Hashimoto's? If you have hashimoto's, then your tsh should be supressed to about .50-1.0 in order for your body to heal and your symptoms to lessen. Anything over that and you would have hypo symptoms. Did your dr ever tell you WHY you were hypo? That is important to know so you know how best to be treated with Hashimoto's being a likely reason. Good luck and let us know how you do.
