Thank you Gimel.
Your so right about so many of us suffering and our Drs are just not listening to our symptoms. They do need to adjust the ranges. My lab has not even adjusted their TSH levels yet.
I'm so frustrated with all of this as many of the members here are. We are'nt getting any treatment or any answers, just staying sick and suffering.
I think I've been to that site but I'll check it out again. Thank you so much again. Take care. Remar
Sorry, forgot to add the link.

I can understand the intent to do further testing of the parathyroid function. At the same time, I could make a case that your free T4 and free t3, while within their reference range, may not be optimal for alleviating symptoms such as you mention. We are all aware of the change to the TSH reference range that was recommended by the AACE over 6 years ago. The rationale for that change was that apparently there were a lot of people with hypothyroid problems that were previously included in the data base that was the basis for the old range of .5-5.0. When excluded the new range was recommended as .3-3.0. When you think about it, it seems there should have been similar changes for the free T4 and free T3 ranges. Exclusion of the same hypothyroid patients, would have raised the range for both of the "Frees". Yet, there has been no such change for these very important tests.
Perhaps that is why we hear so many examples of patients suffering with hypo symptoms, yet their 'Frees" are within the low end of the current range. Perhaps this also ties in with recommendations such as contained in this article, that states that patients need to be treated for their symptoms, and that alleviating symptoms may require that the "Frees" be adjusted to the upper part of their range.
Thank you for getting back to me.
I though my lab was using old ranges. I just had a visit today with my second Dr. and he just looked at my results and said, there normal, there's nothing wrong.
My symptoms are hair loss, exhaustion, brain fog, anxiety, depression, freezing cold, low morning temps. Today it was 95.5. I looked at the thermometer and thought, am I still alive!
The Dr. did give me the lab sheet to get my parathyoid checked so that's my next step.
Also on another test my calcium level was 10.1. The Dr. said that was normal and I told him it was too high.
If you have any more thoughts about this please let me know and thanks again. Remar
Your thyroid labs look good....by the way the new range for TSH is .30-3.0. Your lab is using old ranges.
I would start looking at other testing. What exactly are your symptoms??
