TGab is one of the tests done to confirm Hashimoto's. You already know you have Hashi's so it may not be all that useful, but it wouldn't hurt to know if you have those antibodies.
If you've had the test once and antibodies were present, there's no need to repeat it.
Okay....yes, I do know that I have Hasti.
So what is the difference between the TGab test and the Anti-thy perox test? or are they the same..and just different lingo??
No, TGab and TPOab are not the same. Thyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase are 2 different substances in the body.
Since you know you have Hashi's, it may not serve a purpose to have the test unless you just want to know if you have those antibodies, as well.
