Thyroid and Fluoride?

Has anyone had any improvements in thyroid symptoms since cutting out fluoride?  I've read some articles online about the connection.  This week I cut out all tap water, which is usually all I drink, and have notice a reduction in my fatigue & facial swelling.  I think I might try cutting out fluoride toothpaste too.

I recently stopped drinking tap water and switched to non fluoridated toothpaste. Will keep you posted how I go, if there will be any changes.

Thanks for the info.  I think I'll try cutting for awhile and see how I feel.

Iodine can be replaced by halogens fluorine, chlorine and bromine as they all have exactly 7 electrons in their outer shell and can attach to the same receptor sites. Based on atomic weight, bromine (79.90), chlorine (35.45) and fluorine (18.99) are able to displace iodine (126.70). One halogen can displace another one of a higher atomic weight but cannot displace one of lower weight.

Thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4), made up of 1 tyrosine molecule and 4 iodine molecules, can be constructed with 4 molecules of fluorine, bromine and/or chlorine instead of iodine which renders the T4 absolutely useless.

I drink spring water and brush with non fluoridated tooth paste and have for quite some time.  Fluoride used in the water supply and toothpaste is a byproduct of industrial waste. O_o  Newer studies find no difference in tooth decay regardless if you grew up in fluoridated, non fluoridated or partially fluoridated area.
