Thyroid disease and loud noises

I have a quick question and was wondering if anyone else experiences this...I no longer have my thyroid, which was removed due to Graves and Hashimotos. I am having trouble with loud noises. It completely startles me to the point of almost feeling like I could have a heart attack. Sometimes even when the noise isnt really that loud. Seems somewhere I read that it is thyroid related? Thanks...

I had this too.  when it all started.  Its when i am not feeling good , usually at the days end when im hypo.  My kids make obnoxious noises.  Rather than beating them, i go in my closet and wait for it to pass.  :)

If you are hyper or hypo and are having symptoms of anxiety…the anxiety and the cortisol levels giving you that “fight or flight” feeling may be making you more sensitive to external stimuli…such as the loud noises.

It’s not the thyroid that is doing it but the resulting symptoms that may cause what you are describing.

I've never heard of anything like that being thyroid related.  It's not unusual to be startled at an unexpected noise, whether one has a thyroid issue or not.
