Thyroid-less, Graves, TSH, New on Armour

Hi.. I had my RAI to remove my thyroid becuz of graves 20 years ago.  Never felt right.  Eventually went on cytomel, felt a bit better, but in past 5 years had increasing reactions on synthetics... So switched to armour and have felt more like my old self again. (Grieved about the years I lost.). But, still trying to regulate the armour with and my internist doesn't seem to understand how to do this unless it's with synthroid-cytomel.  After being on my first dose, I was clearly low. He increased me to 1-1/2 grains. Was on that for about 2 mos and developed hypo symptoms  (weight gain eating nothing, cold, depression, etc.).
My march tests while feeling hypo were:
         ultra sensitive TSH- .79    Range .450 - 5.5
                         Free T3.  2.1.    Range 2.4 - 4.5
                         Free T4.  .72.     Range .75 - 2.0
We increased my dose to 2 grains and I felt better, but he looked at my next set of results showed I am hyper... But I am not feeling hyper.  Here are the results
        Ultrasensitive TSH -  .014 Range .450 - 5.5
                         Free T3 -  2.9.  Range 2.4 - 4.5
                         Free T4 - .77.   Range .75 - 2.0
They want me to reduce my dose, but I am having no other hyper symptoms... And my t3 and t4 levels are normal. Can someone help me understand or find a doc who can help me stay normal dosing. I don't have any hyper symptoms...   thank you so much.

You are not hyper...the T3 in your Armour is suppressing your TSH.  This is very common, but many doctors don't understand that T3 will do this.

In your latest labs, your FT4 is barely above the floor of the range...very low.  Your FT3 is at 26% of range, and many people who take desiccated find that FT3 has to be upper half (50+%) to upper third (67+%) of range.

There is no way that you are hyper.

Have your doctor take a look at your March labs.  Both FT3 and FT4 were below range, clearly indicating you were still hypo, and your TSH was already quite low.  In your case, TSH will have to be ignored if you hope to feel well.
