Help Endo question.. how would you handle this ???

I am not at all happy with my Endo right now....he has not done anything here lately..(been 6 months since I have seen him) it is just when I go to him I am only in there for 5 minutes because no matter what I say he says it is not thyroid related.  He says anyone with a TSH 10 or under has NO symptoms...well I begggggg to differ with him on this.
I am having symptoms of SOMETHING....PCP doc tells me that it is related to my thyroid but he says its not so I look like an idiot arguing back and forth with them and in the mean time I am getting NO help.
He says my levels are great now (or they were 6 months ago) but I feel crappy most not all but MOST of the time especially here lately.  I am even dreading going to him in a couple of weeks.  Because an hour trip for a 5 minute visit.  He takes my blood and calls me with the results....I HATE THAT !!!

My real question is....he is in there with 5 other doctors, they are the only Endo's close to where I am and they are an hour away.  So I would have to see one of the other guys and I know he would know I changed Docs.  I just dont know what to do.  I should not care but you know how "buddies" are I would be afraid I would get crappy care all the way around.  Should I just change and chance it or tough it out with him ??

I would definitely get a second opinion and any Dr who has an issue with that is not worth a nickle in my pocket ..........any good Dr. will advocate your going for another opinion and until you change docs, that is all you are doing and you keep the door wide open in all arenas.

I fired a few in my lifetime ... but always leave the door open and you will be ok.

If he only treats TSH >10.0  I'd run .. not walk for another opinion.

There are plenty of docs out there that get thyroid disorders. I am not fond of the  ALMIGHTY" label of endo to begin with.

I found a simple MD with a background in bio identical hormones that has done me good compared to the cr@ppy 3 endos I saw.

RUN !! - First get all your records - match in there and demand them - then practice the Donald Trump phrase in there face ....... "YOU'RE FIRED!!"

A 10 in a TSH - give me a break!!! - print out the wide information available from the AACE that totally states .3-3.0 is the range and ask him where he got his information.

In fact ask him where he got his degree!!!

I agree with AR. Since I started with this thing I have met every conceivable nasty doc you can imagine. So I wouldn't give a toss what anyone of them thought, I'd just do what I wanted to do!

I am with you. i tried to call a doctor who is listed on Armour website, to understand more about his background, what he is specialized,  but he was very rude over the phone and hanged up on me. nowadays, it seems to be more difficult to find a good doctor than find a good husband. LOL

see if you can find a top doctor in your area based on this website, i couldn't find any in my area, good luck

One of the lowly new docs probably knows more anyway, and who cares if the incompetant Endo you are seeing now gets their feelings hurt? He doesn't give a hoot about YOU.
