I have been very tired, but just thought it was part of having three children. I definately have been short tempered (once again, lack of sleep with three small children) and put on some weight (haven't exercised much) I am not sure what are the "typical symptoms" I was told about it after a routine ob/gyn exam with a new doctor last year and she did not seem that alarmed. After another routine blood test this year, things are starting to concern me. This is why I am trying to look up as much info. as I can
Thanks again for the info.!
My endo said a person with Hashi's should have their TSH supressed to a .50-1.0 in order for the body to start healing and for symptoms relief. Your Free T4 should be mid normal range and Free T3 should be mid to high normal range. Very important for you to know that "normal range" to drs isn't always normal.
You are already in hypo range for Hashi's. Do you have any symptoms yet?
Write all this stuff down so you have knowledge at your fingertips when you go to drs.
My TSH, 3rd generation? is 2.72 (range 0.40-4.50) but I do not have any levels for free T3 or free T4. I am definately going to contact my dr. on Mom.
Thanks for the info.
Yes you have Hashimoto's Autoimmune disease. Has anyone ran a complete thyroid panel on you to see if you need meds yet? (TSH, Free T3, Free T4) All 3 are necessary in order to get a complete picture of what is going on with your thyroid.
Eventually the antibodies will completely destroy your thyroid, thus you will need thyroid hormone replacement. It is very important to keep an eye on your levels to make sure you don't suffer symptoms....catch it before it starts.
Your hemoglobin and hematocrit are also low- both are indicators for anemia....but it could be iron anemia or B12 anemia. Further tests need to be done to find out which.
When my iron level gets low, I take a natural food source of iron from health food store. IT is in liquid form so absorbs well. Also you can get sublingual B12 tablets and let dissolve under your tongue daily. B vitamins are water soluble so you don't have to worry about if you need it or not...whatever your body doesn't need it flushes out. Iron on the other hand is a different story and you must be careful with it....that is why I use food source.
Nutrition will not correct your thyroid issue.....in time you will need meds to correct, as there is no natural cure for the autoimmune thyroid.
Hope this helps! :)
