I had thyroid surgery because of goiter . They was 18 yrs apart and on the last one (2007) they tried RAI to shrink it and didn't work.  It actually got larger about 7 cm.  I don't have any thyroid.  My thyroid Dr moved and so my reg dr is checking levels but once a year I just found out about my levels on Friday. Yeah I know its hypo she getting me appt with a Dr Monday.  We don't have any specialist in thyroid in my area anymore. My levels has been ok for awhile. On Armour and I did miss afew doses since I was sick but she said that wouldn't have done it.  I loved the Dr I had before he left and went reg. I just don't want thyroid storm again but I think that was when I was Hyper. is that right? I have been really sick lately and maybe there's a connection with the TSH?  Is there anything I should watch for?

You would need to give a LOT more information for anyone here to give you advice.  Like why did you have the thyroid surgeries?  Do you have any of your thyroid left?  Why have you not had your thyroid levels monitored continuously if you've had two surgeries?  And lastly, do you really not know that a TSH of 52.4 is extremely hypothyroid if you've had two different thyroid surgeries?  Find a doctor, get help.  And keep track of your TSH, Free T3 & Free T4 levels.  Take control of your healthcare!
