Thyroid

After an ultrasound, I was told that I do not have much thyroid left. What does this mean? Doctor has not told me anything. What do I need to do? Do I ask to go to a thyroid specialist or what?

Have you been previously diagnosed as having Hashimoto's Thyroiditis?  I ask because Hashi's is the most common cause for diagnosed hypothyroidism.  The antibodies of Hashi's attack and eventually destroy the thyroid gland, requiring replacement thyroid hormone med to prevent hypothyroidism.
