I apologize too. I guess I have become a bit cynical over my time on the web. I've seen several troll posts and can usually spot them a mile away. I apologize for assuming, and I hope you make the right decision/choice!
I appologize if we sounded insensitive. It's just the "mom" in me coming out. If my daughter (at any age) quit taking her pills for thyroid hormone replacement, the wrath of "MOM" would come out for sure, and it wouldn't be pretty!!! Is there anyone in your life that can help you with this, until you get back on track health wise? We really do care! Please get back on your meds. You really are taking chances here with your health and life. Take Barbs reccomendation and go to the county health clinic if need be, whatever it takes. God Bless!
Please don't get the idea from the previous posts here, that we are an unfeeling group.
If you can't afford a doctor, it's understandable that you haven't been able to be on med ...... How long has it been since you've been on med and/or seen a doctor? Can you tell us when you last had blood work done, and what dosage of med you were on?
I think all States in the US have a Dept of Health, with at least one office/clinic in each county. I would recommend that you start there....... In most cases, I believe the cost of care is based on income and the price range begins at $0.00, depending on your income.
If that doesn't work for you, go to the emergency room at your local hospital; they will either help you or tell you where you might go for help.
Keep us posted, please.
Doctors offices, no money, blood tests, blah, blah, blah...I know...its all a pain in the butt, and I hate it all. But this is your life we're talking about!! All of the hassels and figuring everything out...its ALL worth it. You have to find a way to do it. You will feel so much better once you do, honestly...JUST DO IT!!
Sorry-just saw the title that says you are 28.You are old enough to know better!
Surely you know that you can not live without thyroid hormone replacement. How old are you? What medication have you been on and when was the last time you took it? When was your last blood test to check thyroid levels? Most thyroid medications are very inexpensive. However the lab work can be exopensive if you have no insurance. Please get to a doctor and get back on your meds ASAP. My daughter is 10 and also born without a thyroid gland, so I do know the seriousness of this as you should too! Not something you are suppose to skip, ever!
