Treating Graves Disease

I am a 33 yr old female who was diagnosed with Graves disease almost 2 yrs ago.  At this point it is pretty much out of control and I am having problems getting into see an Endo.  My TSH is .009, T3 1329 and T4 3.94.  I have had a numerous amount of symptoms develop over the last few months the one that concerns me the most is a constant feeling of someone chocking me.  Although my levels are extremely high I have still managed to gain 25lbs over the past year and a half.  It seems to affect every aspect of my life.  I have difficuty concentrating, falling asleep, stayin asleep and of course palpitations. I have had an ultrasound which I was told I had nodules.  This week I had an uptake and still waiting results.  I have scheduled appointments with an Endo although they keep moving my appointment further out.  So currently I am at the point where I am considering a partial thyroidectomy.  I have a huge fear of become hypo due to the common symptom of weight gain.  I have a very strong family history of obesity.
I am at my wits end, not sure of what to do until I get into an Endo. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you!

I have been on methimazole for almost two years and will probably roll off in the next two months...it was a long road- but worked for me.  I am down to a very small amount of methimazole per week... so try suppression meds if you are willing.  You don't necessarily gain weight so don't let that fear prevent you from getting better.

Are you on medication? What are you on and what have you tried?

1/2 years a go and I recommend a total thyrodectemy and not the RAI. I did both.

With the thyroid gone the antibodies can no longer attack the gland and it is much easier to regulate with a hormone pill.

Either way (surgery and RAI) you will go hypo.

Good luck and may God bless you through this tough time it can be pure hell.
