Uggggg.......headaches

I had a TT on 6/1/10.  I had Hashimotos.  They started me on Levothyroxine 125mcg, but I was really fatigued and had puffy eyes.  My TSH went from 0.89 prior to surgery to 4.56 in four weeks.  On 7/1/10 they bumped me up to 137mcg.  10 days later I am having severe headaches and right eye blurry and watery and nausea.  My eyes are still puffy and my brain feels tight. I have been researching and found this can be more hypo symptoms than medication related.  Anyone else have headaches?????

Thank you so much.....its just a strange and different feeling for me and I just want to feel better.  I am taking my levo first thing in the a.m. and waiting four hours to take my calcium.  The only thing I did different was at my first increase at four weeks I decided I didn't want to pay $30 at Kaiser for brand Levothroid, so I went to Wal-Mart for the $4 Mylan levothyroixine.  10 days later felt awful.  I insisted my doc send the rx back to Kaiser (she said it didn't make any difference) I said "humor me doc".  So I picked up my Kaiser Levo and guess what, the headache went away.  I looked at the tablets and they are both blue but the Kaiser brand is a brighter blue and Walmart faded blue.  I am wondering if the potency or fillers are different and bothered me.  Maybe that is why I needed an increase so soon, the walmart brand may not be as potent????  Anyways, I am "riding the waves".........

I wonder if you are taking the dose correctly, ie;not with food or calcium or iron medications?
Often after a TT the TSH will rise as the body adjusts to the lack of ability to continue the 'factory' of hormones. It unfortunately can take a long while to get the levels to a satisfactory result. I know that is not what you would like to hear, but it is one of the things that come with having a TT.
Do you know what your Free T4 and Free T3 levels are? This will show if the thyroixine replacement is actually working in your system. It is a much more reliable source of information than the TSH alone.
Having had a TT and feeling crud for months after wards, I empathise with you!
Hang in there!
