Weight gain and depression

I have Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma was treated with cvs chemo for two years, also have Invasive Lobular Carcinoma resulting in a masectomy, tried femara, faslodex, arimedex, and tamoxifin for 4 years. Had two hip replacements in the last 2 years, suffer from a cognitive disorder from all the chemo, and have sever depression. I cannot take any anti depressants due to suicidal tendicies. I take endocet for my pain . I cannot exercise as I used to due to the surgeries.  I cant lose any weight that i gained from the prednisone. I try to eat a healthy diet of protein, and vegetables every day and usually starve everyday... I had my thyroid checked and it was at .42  Could everything that I have gone through thrown my body way out of kilter could there be another cause for not being able to lose the weight it just adds to my depression... I am 60 years old.

I have the same sentiment as Stella you are truly a winner. I can't even imagine surviving such a disease....applause. My question for you is did you have your TSH and FT3, FT3 and RT3 checked? Also, have your adrenals been checked? How's in your hormones doing at this point?  Alot of times if our hormones are out of balance so is everything else. T3 is the colpret of fat around the mid-section due largely to stress when the body is stressed it often creats T3 as a Fight or Flight response.  Calm is the key but knowing your levels in all respect helps.

Most definately and I am so sorry to hear all you have gone through,

Anyone would be in some sort of depression if all that has happened - but the mind is powerful and you must work on the positive to build yourself up again.

You can get well again. You can! Tell yourself over and over you can!!
