What Kind of Tests Should I Get?

I have had 5 surgeries in  the past 7 months: 2 for colon cancer, 2 for cervical/uterine cancer (resulted in total hysterectomy), and one for a lumpectomy (small lump in breast/benign).  I am tired all the time and have gained 20 lbs in the past month (after being put on Estradiol).  I also am bloated, have stomach aches, joints ache, headaches, am dizzy at times, decreased libido, and intermittent blurred vision.  I am thinking perhaps my Thyroid is off?  What kind of test should I have run now?  You would not believe the # of tests I have had in the last year alone but never any to do with my thyroid.  Please help!

HI - I got my test results back.  I think my thyroid is fine.  Tests show:
TSH 1.520 uIU/ml, Free T4 is 0.75 mg/dL and Free T3 is 3.0 pg/mL.  I am still tired, hair falling out, and swollen stomach, dizzy, headaches and bloated!  Also have a backache and chest aches.  On the test results I did have a test that was high:
C-Reactive Protein (MLI-47441) listed as CRP 19.7 Mg/L.  The range says 0.2-11.0 with cardiac normal range as 0.2-3.0 mg/L.  I don't know what this is?  My last surgery was 5/2/09 so all inflammation should have been gone as test was taken 6/5/09 more than a month past surgery.  I am to see doctor 6/30 for a retest of this.  Does anyone know what C-Reactive Protein test is suppose to show?  Thanks much.

HI - thanks for your info.  I went to doctor today and ask him to do the tests you described.  They took blood and he said he was running those and also doing another panel.  I forgot to mention that my hair is also falling out by the handfuls!  I should have my results by Monday he said.  Thanks for your help.

Hi, it could well be your thyroid is off! The tests you need to ask for are; TSH, Free T3, Free T4 and thyroid anti-bodies. These will also have reference ranges printed on the results. Once you get those and if your doctor says you are 'normal' please post them here (results and ref. ranges) and we on the forum will soon tell you if you are 'normal' or not!
Sorry to hear you have been through so much!
Cheers
