Haha! I think i caught my physician off guard with questions about my cycle. he looked like he was was ready to take off running. LOL
Going to the (male) endocrinologist=$20
The look on the (male) endocrinologist's and your husband's face when you describe your period clotting as "looking like liver and showed it to you husband"-PRICELESS
BAHAHAHAHA!
We have to have ~some~ fun with em, don't we?.?.
I have had over 14 surgeries/procedures, and I can tell you, the periods always come either early or heavier after them. I think it's got a lot to do with the anaesthetic and the shock to the body.
I do know the first thyroid surgery totally stuffed my cycle up, then the 6 months later having the total did it again! But like I said, I have had other surgeries too and each time has been interesting to say the least, female wise!
Glad I could help in that, hehe. :D
Ok! I knew I wasn't nuts. I was due for my period a few days after my lobectomy and it was like 7 days late. Even the nurse explained to me that it could have some affect on my menses. And when it came it was light with a few clots and moderate cramps. I have always had l like you mentioned "good" periods, but this one was definitely not what I was use to. I asked the doc, and he told me something in the female region was causing my problems not my thyroid. Well, I have scheduled my annual with my GYN, but I assure you that I was always like clock work and this time it was a bit off. Thyroid definitely the cause.
I didn't have a TT, but i did undergo a RAI and am now on levoxyl and MAN did it mess with my period!
You can expect things to be wacky for a while. Its a common side effect.
