Thank you all so much for the encouragement.
It's so funny how you know when your body is going through something. I was able to walk into my primary doctor's office and tell her something was wrong with my thyroid just based on how lethargic I was. I not a big woman to start with so when I started losing weight (my size 8's were too big, which to me is a bad thing) I knew...sure enough. It's amazing because I never had this issue until after I had my twins 3 years ago.
You will be fine with the uptake...it is a simple painless proceedure.
They will give you I123 either by injection in the arm or by a pill.
Mine was done by injection...wait 20 minutes then lay on the bed for nearly an hour while they took pics of the thyroid.
You lay on a bed and they take pics to see just how hungry your thyroid is for iodine.
As I said it was a painless proceedure.....the only part i hated was you have to lay completely still and my leg decided to get a cramp lol.
I too have Graves, Had RAI and then TT.
Watch your levels as the fast heartrate can lead to Thyroid Storm (Atrial Fibrillations).
My uptake scan showed 77% which showed that my thyroid needed urgent treatment after 3 episodes of Atrial Fibrillation in 2 weeks.
I was on anti-thyroid meds too for a period of 10 months and was very unstable in levels before RAI was done.
Good Luck and let us know how you go.
Yep, HyperT7 correct. ...you are going hyper. Don't worry about caner just because you are hyper. I had graves/hyperthyroidism, it was not cancer.
Just keep your appts.....going into a thyroid storm is not any fun.
Don't think you need to be concerned with having cancer. Your TSH numbers say that you have gone Hyperthyroid again.
