adrenal deficiency diagnosis
Hello everyone.
I am so confused. I have recently been diagnosed with Hashi's and I am on armour and levo. I had an adrenal stimulation test (24 hr urine) and the results show that I have low dhea, and androsterone. Tetrahydrocortisone, allo-tetrahydrocortisol, and tetrahydrocortisol are all low. My estradiol is low-normal.
My problem is that when I have tried to supplement dhea and adrenal supplements, in both cases I cannot tolerate them. I get depressed and anxious and cannot do anything because my emotions are so bad. I don't understand why I cannot tolerate the meds that are supposed to be making me feel better. Does anyone have an idea? I feel like I still need to go up on armour, but when I tried to get to 2 grains I feel better but sweat profusely, so I have to lower the dose again. Otherwise no hyper symptoms, really, just more energy. Will the sweating get better if my adrenals are better?

Thanks for the reply. The sweating thing is really bad. it happened when I took cytomel before I switched to armour, so I thought it was specific to cytomel, but now it is back. The sweating thing is so bad that I cannot get up from chairs because there will be a wet spot due to the heat from my but on the chair. I will have sweat puring down my face, on my head, and if its humid it goes down my legs and on my butt, too! Its pretty bad! LOL
But, yeah, it might be what I have to deal with I guess.
I took one isocort pill and was very sensitive to it. Same for dhea, I just took 5 mg, the lowest dose, and felt bad. I don't know what it wrong with me. Is the doctor going to put me on hydrocortisone now? Will I have to be on this for life now???

I don't think the sweating is from your adrenals. Is the sweating that bad when you feel good on 2 grains? It might be worth sweating to feel good! lol lol Just tell everyone you just got done working out. lol
What meds are you taking for adrenals that you aren't tolerating? Did you start at full dosage? Sometimes with adrenals you need to start out at much lower dosage and work your way up.
