Gamma GT or Gamma-glytamyl transpeptidase (GGT) is an enzyme found mainly in the liver and is normally present in low levels in the blood. This test is used to detect diseases of the liver or bile ducts. Elevated GGT levels may be due to liver disease, congestive heart failure, alcohol, and many prescription and non prescription drugs.
