thanks i will look them up
Oh and FYI - T4 and T3 test are useless. you need to have Free T3 and Free T4 9 not the word free)
Regular T tests only show "inbound" levels where the Free test show what you have in the system that your body can use. Free is like the floating energy that your body will take up and use to function.
Inbound hormones is just sitting there and playing the wait and see game.

These may help you find more information is your UK area.
Get the T3 it is offered there - it's hard to find someone to run it - but it can be done.
in over two years i dont think i,ve ever been tested for that so when i go back i,m going to ask thanks
The Thyroid Peroxidase antibody test is one that your Endo can run. The Free T3 test is also one he can run, but he doesn't want to.
There are several different types of thyroid antibodies. Four or five? Maybe six? I forget.
The only one that I know of that can be treated to any degree is TPOab (thyroid peroxidase antibodies), although I certainly don't know all there is to know about any of this stuff.
Generally speaking, antibodies cannot be treated. Therefore, your Endo may have no interest in running tests for them.
It is nice to know if you have them or not. It's REALLY nice to know if you don't have them. The presence of antibodies means that you have an auto-immune thyroid disease. Even if your thyroid is removed, you still have the auto-immune disease.
Having an auto-immune disease can lead to other auto-immune diseases down the road, like Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus or Celiac Sprue, to name a few. That does not mean you will get other diseases, but it means the possibilities are higher.
The site I pointed you to has others that have been in your situation. The way the site is laid out, it is very easy for you to see who lives in your country, what tests they've had, etc. I am not saying one site is better than the other, just giving you access to more information and opinions.
You can't order tests there, but you can talk to someone who knows how to get the most out of your medical system. A couple of the moderators live in the U.K.
Medhelp is a GREAT site, but there are other good ones as well. Another resource for you to use.
hi i was just wondering the web site you mentioned in my IM is that where i can get the test run you mentioned earlier (sorry for being a bit thick but is that a private t3 test)
thanks
thanks very much i found about him after researching thyroid and metabolism there was an article by a dr lowe which mentioned it so i googled wilsons syndrome and it came up but after reading your web site it certainly puts me off .
TPOab is Thyroid Peroxidase antibodies. Selenium may help lower the number of that particular type of antibody, but that's a long discussion.
Your MD is not allowed to run the test and your Endo doesn't believe in running a Free T3 test.
The MD I can forgive.
The Endo, not so much.
That's like a dentist saying he doesn't believe in pulling teeth.
I sent you an IM that may be of some help.
Here is one link discussing Wilson's Syndrome. There are many like it.
http://www.quackwatch.org/04ConsumerEducation/News/wilson.html
Just out of curiosity, where were you reading about this subject?
hi im quiet new to all these tests and not sure what a TPOab is i have been to see a endo and he refused to test me for t3 as he doesnt believe in it and my dr said he is not allowed to do them but it would be great if you could help thanks
"Wilson's Syndrome" has been rejected by the medical community as having any validity.
Selenium may be of some value to you if you have a high TPOab, but it should be taken with caution.
Free T3 tests are run in the U.K.
Maybe your doctor won't run the test, but I can put you in touch with someone who has the test run, and I can look up the U.K. test ranges for Free T3, if you like.
