diagnosed, but poorly informed

Hello all. I have hashimoto's ,as well as addison's. I have been off all meds except my prednisone for 1 year now, as it will be another year before I get health insurance.  While I feel pretty good, I am still always lacking energy.  I was taking adderral for fatigue.  My question is does anyone know of something I can take over the counter for energy that is safe?

I would suggest you go to a specific site like Teleplexus to talk to others with Addison's disease. Many of them there have similar issues as yours. The people there are great and have more informed help for you.

Addison's is a serious life threatening disease and you need to make sure you talk to a professional to obtain the right information for you.

WOW.. both issues are hard to deal with.  The subject of Addison's comes up here alot and definately is a disease that has to be managed well in order to balance thyroid.

First. Why are you off ALL meds? - Does your Hashimoto's NOT have to be treated?

In order to really maintain some balance here are some pointers for you.

1. The HC you are taking - just so you know - can sometimes off kilter the thyroid and make it less functionable so you are treating your adrenals as you should but the thyroid would need to be micro-managed slowly too.

2 .I'd seriously get on a HIGH - support formula of supplements for specific CFS and Fibro/thyroid/ adrenal patients.

Look into Dr. Teitembaum's = Fatigue to Fantastic daily supplement package.

3. Heal your immune system to full capabilities.

4. Check out Selenium to suppress the autoimmune issues. ( Some say it works - some not)

5. Go to a pure form of dieting
