general update...

ok, its been a while since i've posted here, so i thought i'd give an update on my situation.

The past 6 weeks or so have been insane, going from hypo to hyper every week. Hyper was getting more frequent and much worse. The past 3 weeks alone i was sent to hospital 5 times because of hyper.

I got an appt with new endo who is truely an amazing doc! Kind, intelligent and he actually listens to me and my symptoms and takes me seriously! So, he said that something must be done after seeing my crazy labs.

We discussed having the rest of my thyroid removed but surgery was far too risky for me personally due to other health issues i have.

After serious research and many discussions with endo and gp it was decided RAI was the safest and best option for me.

RAI was done last friday oct 8th.

As of now, 1 week post RAI i am pleased to say i am doing well. Have had bloods and endo is happy with them. I am slightly hyper but all are within range. Cant take anti thyroid meds as i went into anaphalactic shock when given antithyroids after RAI.

Am on beta blockers to control hyper symptoms and i am happy to say i feel great!!

Bloods are being done weekly on fridays until stable. Will keep everyone posted.
