Low TSH with High free T4 means hyper, but he's TSH is normal, what are the lab references?. I think doctor will ask to repeat the analyses. My son had a border line TSH and free T4 (low) and in my case would be more hypo, but the ENDO wants him to repeat to be sure, but he didn't look worried...If he lost weight he must do more analyses (should check for parasites in fezes, do you have animals at home?). My sons ENDO asked that to my son, also full blood tests (with liver enzymes, cholesterol, etc.), free testosterone, PH, etc. (hormones for puberty)  and urine analyses. May be you should ask your sons Ped to repeat the analyses (more complete), and then you will have more information for the ENDOs appointment.

TSH looks normal to me, does your son have symptoms? My son  (14 years old) got TSH 3.25 and free T4 (0,71- 1,8 ) and doctor wants him to repeat the analyses and test the thyroid antibodies. He has no symptoms.
