how long

i have had all my thyroids removed over 11 years ago. i can no longer afford the medicine. how long can i go without it before i start to have problems?

If a doc can write the script for a higher dose than you need, then maybe you can half the pills and stretch it out that way ... that is a possiblity worth asking about.

You cannot put your health behind anything ... thyroid meds + food/shelter are equal.

A few weeks at most.

People routinely stop their meds for six weeks to do various scans, but by the time a month has gone by they are SICK.

Take Stella's advice in that other thread and see a doctor. Sell something if you have to. Tell them you will pay cash and see if they will give you a discount. Tell them the deal.

See a doctor, have a TSH run, show him some recent records if you can get your hands on them, and get a perscription. Ask the doctor to write it for six months if possible, to give you time to get insurance or save up some money.
