Lump growing bigger!

I've not been on for a few days because I've been feeling so rough, but it's like an addiction, so I'm back with more questions!!! It is only 4 days now (and counting!) until I finally see an Endo and it can't come soon enough. A week or so ago I came on freaked because I'd discovered a small lump which at that time was about 4mm. However, during the week it has grown bigger. I do admit to playing with it often in worry to check it. Can this have made it worse, or bigger in that time, or could it have grown quickly anyway? It's now about the size of a garden pea. Also if it turned out to be malignant, could I have done it damage fiddling with it. And lastly how do you know if it's a nodule that causes hypo symtpms or hyper. Though I've not yet been diagnosed with thyroid disease my TSH is 4.6, leaning toward hypo, could I have made it turn toward hyper by fiddling with the lump?

Thanks you guys for answering. And I know I shouldn't be touching it but I just get so scared. Keep checking to it. I know it's stupid. The worst part is since I've messed with it, I now feel as though I've got something sticking into my throat when I swallow aswell. It's like sort of tight. I'll keep my hands off it I promise.

If the nodule grows after palpation, it is most likely to be the BENIGN cyst. This can happen if the cyst formed as a result of the local hemorrhage within the thyroid, the cancer CANNOT grow that fast! Some medical articles (I have read the one some time ago) are describing exactly the same event. This is why I stressed out not to touch it just to watch!
The medical manual suggests avoiding palpation of the thyroid if inflammation or internal bleeding is suspected.
Avoid pressure to the neck area.
Please keep us posted.

I honestly don't know if you can affect your lump by "messing with it."  I just wanted to say I hope you are soon feeling better, and I'm sure the endo visit will do a lot to ease your mind! Good luck!
