hypo but experiencing hyper symptoms

I was diagnosed with Grave's disease about a year and a half ago.  I've already taken the radioactive iodine five months ago and was also taking Tapazole (Methamazole 10mg).  About two weeks ago, I've become hypo.  They put me on Synthroid (Levo 75mcg).  I have been taking it at night an hour after I've eaten.  Been sleeping well.  But, ever since I started taking the Synthroid, I have been itching all over my body, been so irritable, so hungry, bad gas (sorry) and my heart beat has been fast.  All these symptoms were my symptoms in the beginning of being hyperthyroid.  Called the doc today and he is on a vacation (seems like he's on a vacation every two and a half months).  So the nurse was there and I ask her why are these symptoms back?  She said that I have to wait three weeks for the Synthroid to get in my system and for it to work.  I, then, told her that I undestand what she is telling me but the symptoms of my HYPERthyroid is back.  She said that she doesnt know what to tell me and that the doc wont be back til Dec 6.  So I hung up on her.

My question is that if any of you guys know why my hyper symptoms are back please help me.  No one here can help me and the doctors are just there for the title and not helping people at all.  Please....

a skin reaction can be common when starting hormone meds. It may settle down and many times a doctor willprescribe Benadryl for some time.

It could be the way the body is reacting until you adjust.

Also depending on the labs - Lazymoose is right too. We don't know what your labs were so it could be the dose of Synthroid is too high right now.

Did you make the decision to take the Synthroid at night? Insomnia is common when this med is taken at night but many find taking it at noght can be helpful too. Thats where finding an individual adjustment can happen.

The things you need to stay away from if you are eating would be any calcium things and goitrogens.

Well, you might be on too much Synthroid. If that is the case , you will be hyper.

But............I really dont see how the synthroid is working if you take it one hour AFTER a meal. Its not absorbing right with food being in your stomach.

You need to take synthroid on an empty stomach and then dont eat for one hour (45 min will be OK if you consistently do this).  Most take synthroid in the morning before breakfast. Some do take synthroid at night.

its probably because the synthroid at 75 mcg is too high just now. maybe while you wait for doc to come back from vaca you can skip every other day of synthroid? but, your doc must have someone on call for him while he is away. can you call and talk to another nurse? or email them?
