It sounds as if you have a hyper immune system & severe adrenal fatigue issues. Have you looked into that? AF causes allergies & intolerance to thyroid meds since they put the brakes on metabolically to save adrenal strength -- most Hashimotos patients are over medicated in place of fixing the root...
It has been more than two years dealing with thyroid medicine and I have not seen significant changes. I feel I am getting worse. if Cytomel does in fact give me side effects (allergies) I think there is nothing my doctor can do. He has been great. However my body is not cooperating. Thanks for the good wishes though.
Don't give up too quickly. I recall seeing somewhere that Cytomel is the only thyroid med without any side effects.
I am taking Cytomel the brand. The pharmacist gave me generic without even asking, but as soon as I realized I called him and change to the brand.
I increased my Cytomel dose today, if I start to have worse allergenic reactions I will have to drop it. Since I cannot increase my NT or take T4 only medicine due to RT3, I will talk to my doctor and quit my treatment. It has been a long journey without success, and now that we finally found a cause, it seems I am allergic to Cytomel.
well, thanks.
Are you on the brand cytomel or a generic? That could make a difference.
