I had Graves years ago. I went threw 5 doctors because that had no clue what they were doing. I went to the UOP in Philly, Pa. Dr. Susan Mandel. She changed my life. I had muscle weakness so bad that I couldn't walk long, couldn't do more then 3 steeps, or lift my arm to blow dry my hair....many more! I'm levels are good now by the grace of God. My mom had hers removed as a teen, and my sister just found out she has cancer (37 yrs old) of the thyroid. She never had any issues prior. She also shows signs like puffy eyes, moodiness, and oily to dry skin. Bottom line is you need to do your homework, and find the BEST doctor. I traveled over 2 hours to see mine. Its the best thing I did! God bless...
I had hyperthyroid and went for radio-iodine treatment. My eyes are very puffy. Now I have hypothyroid. My eyes are still puffy. Looks like they are sweollen all the time. Any food therapy.
Puffy eyes are one symptom of being hypo, but can also be caused by other things.
Can you please post your actual thyroid test results, along with the reference ranges from your lab report? This will help members better assess your situation, and enable us to comment more fully.
