I'm assuming that you are on 90 "mg" Armour (1 1/2 grains), not 90 grains., plus 25 mcg levo???
Your FT3 is right on the floor of the range. Rule of thumb for FT3 is upper half to upper third, so yours is very low. FT4 is below range, and the rule here is midrange. TSH is suppressed, but that's not at all unusual when someone is taking T3 meds, and your 90 mg Armour is supplying a lot of T3. Basically, we often have to ignore TSH when taking T3.
I think you might need a slight increase. I say "slight" only because, except for hair loss, you are basically asymptomatic. Both FT3 and FT4 need to go up a bit. Some of us (despite the rules) are comfortable in the lower ends of the ranges. I think you have to judge by symptoms and proceed to increase very slowly until your hair loss is resolved. As long as you don't develop any hyper symptoms, you will be okay.
As you've increased, has your FT3 and FT4 gone up? Or is it staying about the same? Do you have Hashi's? How long ago were you diagnosed?
I originally started out being tired, cold and hair loss. In the past three years I no longer have problems with being tired or cold but I dont know if that could be from my iron ferritin going from 12 to 60 and addressing b's I had an ion profile done. free t3 ranges are 2.0-3.5 and free t4 are.093-1.70.
I'd still like to see the ranges on the FT3 and FT4.
Besides hair loss, do you still have other lingering hypo symptoms? Or have you gotten rid of most of those or found the cause to be allergies, etc.?
ranges tsh 0.350-5.500 my tsh is .0627. t free 3 is 2.02 my doc recommends 3.2 I don't seem to be able to reach that . that is what the Biotics gta forte is for.. It gives me hot flashes. and does not help with hair loss. i am on 90 grain armour and thyroid helping vitamins. I do not have an adrenal problem. I go to a doctor that is in to alternative therapy. He is also a chemist. Nature thyroid makes my resting heart rate over 100 and sythroid didnt work either.
Lol Goolarra...any remedy for kids annoying the sh@t out of you???
Seems we are always wrong as Mums and THEY(kids) know better lol.
Thanks for that...very interesting. Just when you think you've heard every treatment for something out there, up pops this new one.
It was uncovered a few years ago that Naltrexone helps with thyroid disorders but it was my belief that it was with Hypothyroidism after RAI with Graves and not Hashi's.
LDN and Thyroid Function
To date, although there is a limited amount of anecdotal information, there are no formal studies of LDN in autoimmune thyroid disease. In other autoimmune diseases, LDN has been shown to reduce inflammation and promote tissue healing. In addition, studies of endorphins, show that beta endorphins increase antibody production when antibody production is low and decrease antibody production when it’s excessive. It’s expected, but not proven, that the increased endorphins resulting from LDN will reduce thyroid antibody production and help induce remission in autoimmune diseases.
There are no studies showing that LDN has an effect on thyroid hormone levels. In my experience, used short-term (4-5 months) for radioiodine-induced hypothyroidism, LDN has no effect on thyroid hormone levels.
However, increased endorphins can cause an increased heart rate in some patients. This and other symptoms related to increased endorphins can be confused with changes in thyroid hormone levels.
LDN also increases feelings of well being, and it reduces inflammation, which can reduce the size of goiters.
What are the reference ranges on your FT3 and FT4? These vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report. And is your TSH 627 or 0.627?
What is "gta"?
Is that naltrexone that you were on? How does that relate to Hashi's?
Looks to me like your Armour dose is way too high.
Ask Stella as she is the expert on Armour.
Good Luck ;o)
