while on levothyroxine 125
april 2011
TSH   0.193  (.450 - 4.500)
T3  96  (71-180)
FT3  2.7  (2.0 - 4.4)
FT4  1.52  (.82 - 1.77)

after being on levothyroxine 100 - cytomel 25 (1/2 twice a day)
labs in august 2011
TSH   2.6  (.450 - 4.500)
T3  81  (71-180)
FT3  2.2  (2.0 - 4.4)
FT4  .94  (.82 - 1.77)

put back on levothyroxine 125 (6 weeks on this dosage before labs)
labs in september
TSH  0.070 (.450 - 4.500) Low
FT3  3.1  (2.0 -4.4)
FT4   1.85  (.82 - 1.77) High

loosing faith in my dr...ggrrrrr.  like so many...he is so "focused" on my TSH.  

why would he want to lower my 125 to 112 ?

barb...do you know if taking prednisone affects my thyroid levels in any way?

i also have lichen planus and normally take prednisone during a flareup...but my dermatologist had me on prednisone DAILY for 6 weeks...reducing the dosage every 2 weeks.  this took place during the same 6 weeks between my last two labs.

Not even looking at the TSH, the reason for lowering your T4 med, is because your FT4 is over range. Your FT3 is almost mid range, and I think should probably come up more if you keep the cytomel at 25 and drop the T4 med to 112.  I'd give it a try for 6 weeks, then retest.
