lack of concentration, irritability and hungry

For the third time  I went to my endocrinologist with my thyroid hormones CRAZY.  My tsh was 0.004 and he insisted for the third time that a nodule that i have in my thyroid is producing too much tyroxine.  I felt always hungry for sweets, couldnt sleep well, felt always sweating, but never lost weight due to hyperthyroidism,.  I received treatment with 7 mci of radioactive iodine two days ago.  I am very confused.  I am a 56 year old postmenopause lady, feeling tired and deppressed all the time.   Do I have any hope to feel better and have a better quality life? If i feel depressed and very hungry now, woudnt i feel worse if after the iodine burns my thyroid? Please help.

RAI treatment is a slow process. Some do not start experiencing symptoms of Hypo for months after treatment - some feel it in weeks.

It took me about a year to really notice my thyroid dumping. Once it did - I was in terrible hypothyroidism and could not get proper regulation for quite a while.

Be patient with your body - everyone is different. A thought you may want to consider, Keep a log on your symptoms ( Med Help has a really good tracker) Also research the symptoms of hypothyroidism as see if you start getting to levels of reconizing you may be slipping into that. Go to all your lab testings and keep records of all of it.

Use your journal of symptoms along with the comparison of the tests to see where you start to feel good.

Yeap, me too.  Hungry all the time..in the middle of the night.  Get up sweaty and head to the refrigerator.  Then the shower.
Dr. also is blaming my PREmenopause...being 46.

Hang in there!    I believe after the iodine treatment you would be hypo after awhile..and have to take replacement ...synthroid  (example)    Not sure..someone else will correct me if I am wrong.
