Unfortunately, your doctor tested for Total T3 and Total T4, which are both considered obsolete and of little value. You need to ask for the Free T3 and Free T4, which show the actual amount of usable hormones in your blood.
That said, we need to know the reference ranges for the tests you did have done, since ranges vary from lab to lab and have to come from your own report.
Is it safe to assume that the "TPO" is really TPOab? TPO is an enzyme used to produce thyroid hormones. TPOab is antibodies that attack thyroid tissue. If the result of 593 is TPOab, that indicates that you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack and destroy the thyroid.
Adequate thyroid hormones are essential the growth and development of a fetus. You should wait to get pregnant until your levels are adequate and stable. Often when one gets pregnant, medication doses have to be increased.
i am currently taking thyroxin 75m. and my levels are, TT3 1.21 ng/ml
TT4 8.70 ug/dl, TSH 1.15uIU/ml, TPO 593.
i had my 1st miscarraige and D&C in Dec 14th 2012. my last period was on 27th April.
and now this month i got my period 7 days late on 2nd june, and that too only dark brown spotting....
I know that if your levels of TSH aren't controled you shouldn't try to get pregnant because a pregnancy with those high levels can arm the baby and it's a lot easier to have a miscarrige.
What are your current thyroid hormone levels? If you have a copy of your latest lab report, please post results and be sure to include reference ranges, as those vary lab to lab and have to come from your own report. Low thyroid hormone levels can cause menstrual cycle to be off, as well.
There could be many reasons why conception didn't occur.
