Oh golly; I think a lot of us have struggled with eating disorders........ and yes, I'd say something is "broken" in your body and needs to be fixed, but I don't think that's causing the swelling in your lip.
Yes, it seems that green coffee bean extract is the latest weight loss "rage"; whether it works or not, I have no idea, but I certainly have my doubts.
You can look on the bottle of your Energy Uptime and see what vitamins might be there. Too much caffeine can be detrimental to your health.
Better to have an official diagnosis and get treatment for whatever you have, rather than go along being miserable and worried that something "might" be wrong, but not knowing what......
Yeah, hoodia is supposed to be "natural"....... it's also supposed to work, but did nothing at all for me........ maybe because my body was trying to tell me that my thyroid was sick.........
And no... Its not green coffee bean! But someone did mention that its the rave these days! Never tried it! I take some called Energy Uptime - its base is caffeine but it proclaims to have other vitamins as well! Which do wonders for my mood. Its obvious I have a few more issues that I might need sorted out! I'm hestitant to self-diagnose .. But hesitant to officially be diagnosed! I tried Hoodia! Its supposed to be "all natural" ha!
Lol! Thank you! Very helpful information! See I've also struggled with eating disorders win my late teens early- mid twenties..so I wasn't sure if I had "broken" something in my body! If my body could have a talk with me - it wouldn't talk! It would just yell " what da hell are you doing!?? *insert desired explitives* " but I'm trying to get things under control! I WILL however see my doctor about it! And noted on the supplements! *sigh* thanks for your response. :-)
Oh not necessarily uninteresting......... I just didn't quite catch the connection, because while there are some types of lip swelling that can be characteristic of hypothyroidism, I've never heard of the intermittent swelling you're having.
The lip swelling that is sometimes present with hypothyroidism, typically, is not intermittent; once it's there it stays until the hypothyroidism is under control. Often with this type of swelling, the tongue swells, as well and feels like it's too big for the mouth. I've had the tongue swelling, but not the lips; my sister has both.
I'm not really sure that it would have anything to do with your period either, though, I guess, it's possible that with added/different hormones during that time of the month, there could be a reaction, of some type. Hormones are funny things; they don't like other things interfering with them.......lol
It would seem that your lip swelling is related to something else, but if you current thyroid lab results, please post them, along with reference ranges which vary lab to lab and have to be posted with results. That will give us a chance to determine whether your levels are okay, or if you could have issues.
I'd still lean toward the appetite suppressant and caffeine vitamins (is that green coffee bean extract?).
Um.. Yes there is! I gave all that uninteresting information about me to see if there were factors other than maybe disfunctioning thyroid causing the swelling! Maybe I should have been more articulate! . Anyway. If anyone thinks lip swelling in these circumstances has anything to do with a malcfunctioning thyroid .... I guess I would like to hear from you.
This is a thyroid forum......... is there a thyroid question in there, somewhere?
If not, just as an off hand suggestion: have you considered the appetite suppressant or the caffeine vitamins, as the culprit. Healthy diet and adequate exercise are best for healthy weight loss. Studies show that yoyo dieting makes weight harder to get rid of.
If this happens again, you really need to see your doctor to find out what's causing it.
