medication for hyperthyroid

I was diagnosed 2 weeks ago with a hyperthyroid which was almost twice what it was supposed to be.
Dr put me into hospital that morning and began giving me PTU, Propylthiouracil. 100 MG, 4 X a day, which is 400 MG.
Am also taking 25 MG a day of Metoprolol to keep my heart from racing.
My question is, does that seem like I am taking too much now that I am home. I am having blood work done weekly and check ups with Dr. who started me on the meds.   Am still waiting to get in to see the Dr for my thyroid. I have quite a few headaches and my head hurts right behind my eyes also.

Thank you so much, it does help to hear  positive feedback.
I'm 52 yrs.old and never been on medication for a long period of time,
so this hyperthyroidism is very new to me and feel down quite a bit because of the headaches and tiredness all the time. Thanks again

If you were admitted to Hospital then your levels must have been dangerously high.
400mg of PTU is not really high if you have the levels double what they should be.
Dont decrease them.
The Docotr seems to have you under control with weekly labs.....
I had mine done weekly prior to RAI (for Graves and Hyperthyroidism) so that I could be closely monitored.
Seems like you have a Doc who knows what hes doing.
Stick with him...they are like Gold :)
