With a TSH level of 5.67 , you most definately need a dose increase.
The secret to balancing out your levels so they are stable is taking it slow.
Do it fast and you will go Hyper.
.50mcg is the next dose up from .25mcg ..then most probably 62.5mcg.
Just take it slow, watch your symptoms and when you feel cr@ppy, you will know it is time for Labs again.
Good Luck.
That is definitely high....mine last tested at 7.6, and I felt/feel awful.I can empathize!
Your doctor was right to raise your meds...the bad part is it can take 6 weeks for the new dose to build up/take effect. Hopefully you will notice a difference much sooner!
I agree with the others, though -that is a crazy reference range they have. Wow!
I hope you feel better soon.
It takes a long time for your symptoms to go away. Doctors start you out at a lower dose to let your body get used to it. It took me at least six months to tell you how I even felt. Shows you how out of it I was. I am on 50 mcg of synthroid. I know I will be increased soon. Make sure you keep track of your symptoms. Then the doctor will be able to help you with the levels. For us to tell you what is good for you we won't know. Keep us updated on the lab work. I would make sure you have antibody testing tho, and an ultrasound done so you know if you have anything else going on.
.47-6.9??? WOW!!! That is a crazy range! That level is high, your doc. was right to up the dose although they really need to do something about the range the follow!! The newist rangea are .3-3.0 so theres a big difference there!
