I can tell my thyroid levels are off solely from anxiety. I only get it when my thyroid (or lack of thyroid in my case) is whacky. Anxiety is very common with both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism.
YES.
it is very common for people with out of balance thyroid to have anxiety and also depression. Interestingly, these are two symptoms that seem to not be specific as to whether too high or too low of thyroid as anxiety in particular can be present in either condition.
Have you had thyroid levels checked? IF so please post your results. If not be sure when you go in to DEMAND that Free T3 and Free T4 be tested. Understand that the "free" test is different than "total" and you want to make sure to get the "free" hormone test.
it is not free in terms of cost. The term free comes from whether or not the thyroid hormone is "free" or has become attached to a protein molecule. Once the hormone gets attached to a protein it becomes biologically inactive and your body can't use it. The body ONLY uses the "free" unbound hormone. This is why it is so important to test for "free" hormones.
