Please send the reference ranges for the FT3 and FT4 tests, too. Ranges vary lab to lab, so if the results you've already posted come from a different lab, they may not be the same as current ranges. Also, do they say they are FREE T3 and FREE T4?
I have the test
Fist test was in April before I started meds
T3 6.7
T4 17,3
TsH 0.10
I'll send the last one as soon as I get them.
Hi
I am on advice simvastatin 10 mg once a day
Neo Mercazol 5 mg once a day
Pur books 20 3 times a day
I have stopped the neo Mercazol now for the radiation. Some days I feel great other days I feel really bad.
While I was on all meds I felt ok. But when stopping after 3 months I felt really ill again.
I'm off to the doctor today to get the results and I'll send them though to you.
Once again thank you for the help. I'm putting my radiation on hold till I have all factors.
i suggest you to wait and find other approach rather than doing radiation and permanently kill thyroid
btw whats your thyroid numbers? tsh free t3 and free t4
remaining on beta blocker is one of the best approach as this spike in thyroid hormone might be temporary and due to other factors.
What kind of thyroid tablets are you on? What's the dose?
It's very hard to comment without seeing what your labs look like. Could you possibly ask your doctor for results both before starting meds and after? How long had it been since you discontinued thyroid meds before the second set of labs were drawn? Please include reference ranges with results because they vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.
Has a cause of your hyperthyroidism been diagnosed (Graves' disease or possibly Hashimoto's thyroiditis)?
It's a difficult decision whether to have RAI (radioactive iodine) or not. Your doctor should be willing to put you back on meds so that you can research the implications of RAI and make an informed decision without being rushed.
How did you feel when you were on meds?
