specialist

I have just been diagnosed with a underactive thyroid. My doctor is not helpful and has ignored many symptoms over a three year period as I have declined in health. I would like to be referred to a specialist but do not know who deals with thyroid issues. Could you give me this information so that I could get the effective treatment I need?

depending on your test results your gp can help you if you can not get to an endo.  i am cared for by a nurse/practioner of all things hypo is not uncommon after a woman reaches a certain age. do your research and demand the correct tests. what meds are yu on.  be your own advocate. i was ignored also but the blood test dont lie.
