symptoms after partial thyroid operation

I had a partial thyroid operation on the 24th january 2008, they found a benign cyst which rather largebut was successfully removed along with the left thyroid. the scar healed very well, but sometimes it feels as through the muscles tighten in my throat, its this an after effectof the operation.

thanks for you comments, the muscles tighten just under my bottom jaw, not at the bottom where scar is, thought it might be a nervous reaction to the op. i live in the uk.

Had the same thing with *both* of my partials.  The worst things were lifting my head off the pillow, turning to look over my shoulder (backing the car, etc.) and sneezing.  Sneezing was a *killer*.    It does get better.  Ice helps

It could be temporary as it takes 6-8 weeks for the internal stitches to heal .. could be scar tissue .. could be lack of muscle tone bcz of the surgery and will get better as you heal.

I had a weird one .. could not bend my lower lip down as to "pout" for about a year and still is hard to do ..I should post and ask others if that has happened.
