thyroid help

How long should I wait before starting cytomel.  Backing down from 112mg tirosint to 100mg.  Was previously on 100, but t4 levels were below midrange and t3 below.  T4 levels now above midrange and t3 levels below.  I tried starting 5mcg cytomel after 1 week but having issues tolerating it.  I'm having horrible issues with hairloss too.  My hair volume has decreased in half. Is that from the chronically low t3?? I have a history of not doing well with t3 meds.  The cytomel has given me a terrible headache.  I'm afraid 9f losing all of my hair trying to get on a correct dose of meds.

Those are totals.  I know I need the frees but my current physician does totals.  With the med increase I developed insomnia, racing heart, and anxiety.  The hairloss increased as well.  Dropped back and added cytomel a week later.  Developed muscle weakness, irritability, red flushing of the face, muscle tightness and burning sensation.  My t3 and Ft3 has always ran low, but have yet to tolerate a t3 med.

Are those T4 and T3 results you mention Free T4 and Free T3, or Total T4 and Total T3?  What symptoms do you have other than hair loss?
