I waited about three weeks also. Even then I did only the most light movements - like not much more than the 'raise your hands over your head' ones. But just getting out for a little bit, breathing and seeing friends was worth the trip.
Obviously, you'll want to avoid standing on your head (if you're even capable of that to begin with, my hat goes off to you!).

I waited about three weeks before I went back to class after my TT. Use your best judgement. I practice Bikram and my movement was limited in all of the back bending postures, but for the most part I was completely fine in class. Get back in there as soon as you feel you can and take it very easy your first few classes back.
