I just had my Blood test

The result showed
TSH 3rd generation 2.84
T4free 1.2
T3 free 5.2

RT3 312

I was told that the rt3 ratio is 16.5 and my doctor is now giving me natural T3 n of 0.25 in the morning and Armor 60 in the afternoon for one week
After that T3 30 for one week and after that T3 of 37.5

Is this the right approach as he was wrong before and I know it is hard to give the correct treatment when it comes to Hypothyroid but I want to make sure that I am not just a guinea pig but actually on the right path to improve my fatigue and weight gain issues as well as constant flues

I would appreciate any input

Hi

Thanks for your kind attention
Yes it came from them
I started to lose a bit of the weight that I gained in one week and have a bit more enegy
I am also taking cortisol and adrenal support as my test showed that my Adrenal was too low
I am still much more sensitive than before and more down than usual

Did you find a right formula for yourself as it has been an ever uphill battle for me for the last 33 years

This time it has been harder but I am determined not to stop:)

Thanks again for your kind support

Looked at Dr Holtorf's web site, but couldn't find anything specific on "natural" T3 med......  from what I saw of the website, it makes sense regarding testing; maybe you need to ask more questions or look at the bottle of medication you were given.  Did this natural med come from Dr Holtorf's office or was it a script that had to be filled at the pharmacy? Could make a huge difference.

Still need to know the reference ranges from your lab report.

I'm sorry, I don't know of a "natural" T3, other than what's contained in the desiccated medications such as Armour, ERFA, etc. T3 in these medications  is not isolated, so you can't take it separately from the T4.

Supposedly, cytomel and/or the generic synthetic T3 meds are the same as your body would produce if it could....... is this what he's talking about, as being "natural"?

I'll try to google the "Holtorf Clinic" and see what treatment(s) they advocate.

What are the reference ranges of the FT3 and FT4?  These vary from lab to lab and depend on units of measurement used, so  must come from your own lab report.

I am with the Holtorf clinic
My Reverse T3 is 312 my Ft3 5.2 and my TSH 2.84
My T4 1.2

He is keeping me on armor one pill .60 in the afternoon and started me on T3 natural he calls it of.25 and going up over the next few weeks to 37.5

I hope that this is clearer a bit
I have a touch more energy and feel less doom and gloom
My stomach is less bloated and there are very small signs of improvement
What do you think about this approach ?

Please post reference ranges for the tests, as these vary lab to lab, so must come from your own report.

Additionally, I don't understand this: "I was told that the rt3 ratio is 16.5 and my doctor is now giving me natural T3 n of 0.25 in the morning and Armor 60 in the afternoon for one week After that T3 30 for one week and after that T3 of 37.5"

What's the "natural" T3 med? Is your doctor adding an additional T3 med to the Armour, which already contains much  more T3 than the body normally produces?

You might want to re post as a Reverse T3 question in the heading. Very few with RT3, this way they will see your post. Yahoo groups also has a specific RT3 group forum.
