underactive thyroid and weight gain

hi i am 22 and was diagnosed with hashimoto (underactive thyroid) when i was 12 years old, i started at 50mg and now take 200mg of thyroxine a day. since finding out about my thyroid disorder i have gained alot of wieght, mostly in the past 4 years, me and my fionce have also been trying for a baby and have had 3 miscarridges, we are now seeking specialist advice, but was wondering if anyone had any answers now about losing weight  and if anyone else with this disorder has suffered from miscarridges.

I agree that you should post your most recent thyroid labs, along with the reference ranges, since these are lab specific and must come from your own report.  

In addition, I would suggest that you get checked for both PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) and insulin resistance.  Both, along with hypothyroidism, can make it difficult, if not impossible to lose weight. PCOS can make it difficult to get pregnant, I believe can also cause miscarriage.

Do post your labs and reference ranges, as that will help members comment more fully on your thyroid status.

It would be most helpful if you would post your thyroid test results and the reference ranges shown on the lab report.  It is a good idea to always get a copy and record on there your meds at the time and how you are feeling in general.  That way you have a good reference for the future.  The doctor is required to provide a copy upon your request.  Once members have a look at your test results and reference ranges, we can help interpret your status.
