A TSH being low with normal or high T3 and T4 means hyperthyroidism. Everyone one here would agree I think. That though you feel bad, you're not in any danger as this can be treated.
Three likely causes:
Likely: Autoimmune disease (Graves disease). Treatment I think is usually medication. If that fails surgery or Radioactive Iodine treatment.
Less likely: Thyroiditis. Thyroid inflammation, typically resolves over a few months.
Not so likely: Benign hormone secreting tumor. Often called a hot nodule because it shows up strongly on radioactive iodine uptake test. Treatment is surgery.
A doctor should be able to help you figure out what the cause is and what treatment is needed. Graves disease and Thyroiditis I think can be hard to tell apart. Usually but not always thyroid stimulating antibodies are high with Graves disease but not always. A thyroid ultrasound exam is helpful as well.
If the doctor suspects a hot nodule he may order a radioactive iodine uptake test.
Yes, so sorry, that first sentence should read "Everything in your thyroid panel points to hypERthyroidism."
I can only apologize. I was agreeing with you. So sorry to have confused you...
thank u for replying.. dont u think i have hyperthyroidism ?? becoz i came below normal ranges..pls think again and tel me are u sure i have hypo ? i wil take appointment from doc next week..but i have almost all the major symptoms of hyperthyroidism and my test result values also show this .why u said i have hypo :( im hell confused now feel like crying ..pls reply
Everything in your thyroid panel points to hypothyroidism.
Your doctor should order TSI (thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin) to confirm Graves' disease. Should that be negative, you should be tested for the antibodies for Hashimoto's thyroiditis. These are TPOab (thyroid peroxidase antibodies) and TGab (thyroglobulin antibodies). While Hashi's is hypo in later stages, it can be hyper in early stages.
Your FT3 is just a little above range, and your FT4, while still in range, is on the high side.
How do you feel? Is your doctor suggesting medication?
