Heart Palpitation

Hi
I read with interest this forum as my mom is suffering from Heart palpitation for past few years & Drs are unable to find any problems with her heart & physical condition.
However due to palpitation, she is anxious abt her wellbeing & spends most of her time resting by lying on a bed.

I will be obliged if you can give your comments on the pathological reports and her condition as observed by me of
my mom..

Complaint : Feels exhausted/weak and has Palpitation
Sex: Female      Age : 70+ yrs.
Weight : 52 Kg (constant for last so many years)
BP : 150-190/76-90,    Pulse Rate : varies from 80 to 120/125
Palpitation is invariably noted when she is exhausted/tired or has inadequate sleep. Gets sleep only for 5-6 hours/day on taking sedative, namely, (a) Stressnil 0.5 mg (contains Alprazolam0.5 mg and Melatonin 3 mg) in night/bed time.
(b) Trika 0.25 mg (contains Alprazolam 0.25 mg) in day as and when palpitation increases-mostly in afternoon around 1600 hrs. Sleeplessness is existing since last 10 years, however, she is taking sedative listed at (a) for last 6-7 years and has started taking sedative listed at (b) since last 2 years due to palpitation of heart.
General Condition :
[1] Get tired/fatigued after every 2-2½ hrs. She has to take rest for 2 hrs appox. Before she can again move around. Sometimes, feel extremely weak/exhausted, and hence continues to take rest-lying down. Also Palpitation increases.

Thanks..
1. What is basic lab & close lab?
2. ACTH Adrenal test - what it is suppose to indicate?
3. Vitamin levels are normal. She is taking Vit B & Homo-16M Capsule regularly.
What I am trying to ask is that what could be wrong?

I wish there was a concrete answer here but these are basic labs on certain things and nothing truely stands out.

I feel further testing on thyroid is best - However you need better tests... Free T3 and Free T4 with the TSH is better. She could use autoimmune tests too to determine that - due to close labs.

How about an ACTH adrenal test or 24hr saliva culture? Check the adrenals out.

Also any heart monitor given to see if there's problems ? - a 24 hr holter could track things.

No mention of any vitamin tests like Vit D - calcium - B's - K's either.... should get those w/ iron

That's just a few thoughts but it may take some time for sure
